Zirconia is highly aesthetic
Zirconia is highly translucent especially when compared to traditional metal substructures and can be customized according to the 16 classic Vita shades. Zirconia restorations also solve the ‘black gum line’ problem inherent with traditional metal restorations which occurs when the gingiva recedes. These qualities of zirconia provide natural looking restorations which are indistinguishable from real teeth.

3M™ ESPE™ Lava™ Crowns & Bridges are touted as one of the most esthetic and clinically proven all-ceramic restorations available today. Lava restorations offer excellent long-term stability with no allergenic potential. Milled from a presintered Lava zirconia block, each framework is colored using one of eight VITA® shades. After sintering for 10 hours to gain strength and fracture resistance, the framework is layered with feldspathic Lava Ceram porcelain. The final Lava restoration demonstrates exceptional marginal fit, lifelike translucency and long-term durability.

IPS e.max® is made of monolithic lithium disilicate ceramic and delivers outstanding esthetics and precision fit. An affordable alternative to PFMs and zirconia-based restorations, IPS e.max can be pressed or milled using Enhanced CEREC® software and the Sirona inLab® MC XL milling machine.
Prescribe IPS e.max to achieve optimal esthetics, virtually perfect contacts and occlusion, and impressive strength. Its unique lithium disilicate ceramic provides flexural strength of 360-400 MPa, making it the ideal high-strength solution for single-unit anterior or posterior crowns.

These are a type of cosmetic crown which are made purely from ceramic and no other material. This is in contrast to other types of crowns such as the porcelain fused to metal variety and gold crowns.The defining feature of these crowns is that they are made from a translucent material which is attractive to look at and blends in well with the rest of your teeth. This means a top quality crown which will last for many years. The majority of all ceramic crowns are produced using computer technology, e.g. CAD/CAM technology which is based upon 3D design.Another option is metal ceramic crowns.There are two types of ceramic crown:

- E-Max

More brawn than beauty, you'll be impressed by the esthetics of BruxZir when prescribed instead of posterior metal occlusal PFMs and full-cast metal restorations. BruxZir is virtually chip proof, making it the ideal restoration for bruxers, implant restorations and areas with limited occlusal space.
